About Me

Hello everyone! My name is Amanda and I’m MetalPhantasmReads! I’m sure you’re wondering: why that name? Well, keep reading and I’ll explain 🙂

I live in the U.S. I married my best friend in 2013 and we have two furry, silly cats and a yellow Labrador. I work for my public library and love being around books all day. I am a woman of faith. I also love symphonic metal music. That may sound interesting to some people, since I am religious. But hey, we all have our likes 🙂 I love bands like Nightwish, Kamelot, Within Temptation, Queensryche (their old stuff) and most of Epica.

So why my interesting name? Well, besides being a fan of metal music, I also love the movie Batman: Mask of the Phantasm. If you don’t know that movie, it’s an animated Batman movie from 1993 that’s one of the top Batman movies ever made. I’ve always loved the Phantasm character,  hence it being my logo essentially.

I review books from both Net Galley and Penguin First to Read. I highly recommend those sites if you’re an active reviewer/reader and want access to titles. You’ll see those on my blog as I read them. There will be reviews for the ARC’s I read, but there won’t be spoilers or excerpts from the writing.
