**SPOILERS AHEAD FOR IF YOU HAVEN’T READ STRANGE THE DREAMER**

Goodreads Synopsis: In the wake of tragedy, neither Lazlo nor Sarai are who they were before. One a god, the other a ghost, they struggle to grasp the new boundaries of their selves as dark-minded Minya holds them hostage, intent on vengeance against Weep.

Lazlo faces an unthinkable choice—save the woman he loves, or everyone else?—while Sarai feels more helpless than ever. But is she? Sometimes, only the direst need can teach us our own depths, and Sarai, the muse of nightmares, has not yet discovered what she’s capable of.

As humans and godspawn reel in the aftermath of the citadel’s near fall, a new foe shatters their fragile hopes, and the mysteries of the Mesarthim are resurrected: Where did the gods come from, and why? What was done with thousands of children born in the citadel nursery? And most important of all, as forgotten doors are opened and new worlds revealed: Must heroes always slay monsters, or is it possible to save them instead?

Love and hate, revenge and redemption, destruction and salvation all clash in this gorgeous sequel to the New York Times bestseller, Strange the Dreamer.

Oh my gosh you guys! There’s less than 3 months left until this beauty comes out 😀 There’s been so much hype and buzz over the synopsis and both covers. I have read a few early reviews already and they are so promising. I know Laini Taylor is a master of creating worlds, using words and also tearing at our heartstrings with claws. Here’s three reasons why I’m excited for this book:

  1. Answers: There are still so many questions about Weep and other characters following the first book: How did the blue statue get there? Where did it come from? How did the godspawn children survive the carnage? What about the war? So many questions lie in this sequel and early reviews have promised answers to those questions. I know there will be a lot of violence, death and other dark subjects. But Taylor grasped much of that really well in the first book. I need to know more!
  2. New Characters: While there are many POVs in this story, according to early reviews, we’ll get a few very satisfying ones and new ones. While I didn’t like the new girl that was introduced in her other book Dreams of Gods and Monsters, I am hoping that it will be better in this one. But I also hope that Lazlo won’t be a background character in this final installment; I need my romantic, wonderful librarian!
  3. Fates of Characters: Don’t we all keep reading series installments to see what happens to characters? The ending of Strange still broke me even the prologue was a vague foreshadow of what was to come. I have heard that while this is the conclusion that there could be a possibility of more being in store? I’m not going to read much into that, since it’s still early. But I have to know how this story ends and see if it’s happy or not. I can see it going either way and that makes me beyond happy really 🙂 An author that doesn’t pull punches reaps the rewards.

What are you waiting for this Wednesday? Do you have any thoughts for Muse of Nightmares? Also, which cover do you like the best: US or UK?
